Carol Harrison Catena - Marketing Director
Carol is a communications professional and mother of two children, Parker and Claire. For more than a decade, Carol worked at Fleishman-Hillard, Inc. where she managed corporate and product communications for major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. She also spent several years on Capitol Hill as the senior legislative assistant to Congressman John Porter of Illinois. She is on the Board of Directors for The Brownstone School and is active in the Upper West Side community.
Teachers
Maggie JinLing Li
JinLing has more than 20 years of experience teaching Mandarin to children of all ages and backgrounds in New York and in China. JinLing graduated from XinHui Normal Education College and earned an associate Chinese Language degree from ZhongShan University in China. Her attentive and caring teaching style creates a fun and nurturing atmosphere conducive for students to grow academically and socially.
Bing Ying Hu
Bing Ying Hu earned her Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a Minor in Asian Studies from Skidmore College. She is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Chinese at Hunter College. She taught Chinese at Saratoga Springs Elementary school when they launched their weekly foreign language program. Bing-Ying is enthusiastic about helping all children learn the “language of 21st century!”
Daisy Yiming Wang
Daisy Wang earned her Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Language and Literature from East China Normal University in Shanghai. She is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Chinese at Hunter College. Daisy has taught school-aged children of all ages for nearly four years in both group and private settings. Parents and students alike have given her high praise for her enthusiasm and effectiveness in the classroom. Daisy is committed to helping all children gain fluency in Mandarin.
Cindy Hui-Hsin Wu
Cindy holds a BA in Education from the National Hsinchu University of Education in Taiwan. During her four years of college, she received several awards for her language performance, including the Chinese Public Speaking and Writing Contest. She also represented Hsinchu City in the National Language Competition. After graduation, she taught in a number of elementary and middle schools. She is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Teaching of Chinese at New York University. Cindy is enthusiastic, outgoing and has tons of engaging teaching ideas that will surely help your child achieve Mandarin literacy in no time!
